Another mapping day – 10th May

Just punched in the figures from taday’s mapping – adding about a dozen new Monkey Orchids. This has taken all the statistics to new record levels: most plants in the colony (547); most Monkey Orchids (410); most hybrids (130). I am sure we haven’t heard the end of the story yet either because I know we will find more Monkey orchids, as they come into flower and poke their heads up above the grass. 🙂

Also, a big thank you to all the visitors who have stayed behind the marker tapes and taken special care not to tread on both ther orchids and the big muddy patch by the hybrids – it is very much appreciated and every little helps to preserve the site and boost the orchid numbers! 🙂
